Above is an acrylic painting I made a few years ago. My inspiration was simply to take something uninteresting or ugly and spend a great deal of time recreating its details on canvas. Trash was a great subject for that, and the completed painting certainly makes one spend more time looking at trash than one normally would. Below is an oil painting I did of a train going through a volcano, for no other reason than I found that concept extremely awesome.
