Rob Loukotka | Chicago Graphic Designer
This site was designed in 2009 for a news website / blog focusing on the Los Angeles music scene. The site features articles, reviews, and profiles of big names in the LA music industry. The design is meant to be really exciting, capturing the same energy found in the music that the site writes about. All of the textures, backgrounds, and UI were designed from the ground up to work into a Wordpress theme. A custom Wordpress system was developed to allow for multiple authors to control the dynamic homepage units. The most inventive and challenging part of the site is the 'Calendar of Events' page, which allows for all authors on the site to post concerts around Los Angeles, and have the site list them automatically in order by show date. After the day that show is completed, the Calendar of Events page automatically removes the old shows, so no extra work has to be done by the authors.

Since its launch in the summer of 2009, this site has interviewed loads of famous musicians and producers around Los Angeles. I wish Mike Houser of LA Music Blog the best of luck on this project, it's shaping up to be a huge force in the LA music scene.

Business Cards, Flyers, a MySpace page, and a Twitter background were also created for this project. You can view the Flyer design here. A subpage of the website is shown below.
